Makeup Tutorial? Or is it much more?

Before reading what's below, please watch this video.

Domestic Violence is a major issue around the world. Many people suffer from this inhuman act and a lot of them are too scared to stand up for themselves. Some continue to endure the pain while the lucky ones are set free.

This video made me more aware of the current issue and it has really come to my attention that people (most especially women) are in need of help. You might ask "How can we help if they can't help themselves?" Isn't that the point? How can they escape from their offender's clutches without getting hurt? They need help. They need someone to allow them to flee such a life. They've done what they can by telling their story, it's up to us to help them.

This is a very big issue which should be addressed and eradicated. We need to put a stop to this madness and let human rights prevail. Being aware of this issue is a big help and putting this knowledge into action by reporting any act of domestic violence helps save lives. I wanted to make a post about this because I believe that social issues such as this need to be solved immediately. Yes, there may be bigger issues at hand but they should not overshadow the fact that a lot of people are suffering because of this.

If I could as you guys a favor by tweeting this video with a hashtag of #dontcoveritup / #notodomesticviolence /  #speakup. Let's make others aware of this problem.

09.01.13

Happy Sunday to everyone! Based on popular belief, Sundays are supposed to be spent with the family or a day of rest, but that sadly does not apply to DLSU whose exams are next week. Oh the joys of studying have turned me into a panda. Nonetheless, my Sunday was good. I had lunch at New World Hotel with my family and a few friends and I feel 100x heavier after eating at the buffet!! Eating is definitely one of my simple joys. Also, I'm on day 4 of being a vegetarian and it hasn't made me cranky yet. (I do love my steak). But my conscience has been telling me to keep it up so I do feel a tinge of pride for not even being tempted to taste the mouthwatering rib eye at the hotel.

Now down to business, I wore a white long sleeves blouse, black denim shorts, a navy blue sling bag, black brogues, and gold accessories. My outfit today was "hotel appropriate". The blouse really gave a touch of elegance while the black denim shorts casually balanced the outfit out. I don't think I looked too casual or too formal for the affair. Also, I am IN LOVE with brogues. These are my favorite pair of brogues and because it is commonly worn by men, it gives a woman an independent touch.

Outfit details: blouse- Mango, shorts- Forever 21, shoes- Etienne Aigner, bag- Christian Dior, sun glasses- Ray Ban, watch- Marc Jacobs, and ring- given to me by my mom.

So what do you guys think?
